Roy Elizondo

Roy J. Elizondo III grew up in the Texas Hill Country just north of San Antonio and graduated at the top of his class in high school before attending Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. After graduating from Yale, Mr. Elizondo returned home to Texas to attend South Texas College of Law in downtown Houston.

After 15 years of practicing on both sides of the bar, at the trial and appellate level in both State and Federal Court, Mr. Elizondo has successfully litigated or tried to jury verdict numerous cases with values ranging from $10,000 - $30 million. Mr. Elizondo has been selected by Texas Monthly’s Super Lawyers as a “Texas Rising Star” for the past five years (2012-2016).

Hunter Klein

Hunter M. Klein is a Partner with Green & Barton. He was born and raised in Northwest Houston to a family with deep Texas roots and a strong work ethic. Hunter is an Eagle Scout, and graduated with a degree in Political Science from Baylor University before attending law school at the University of Houston Law Center. While in law school Hunter was an editor of the Houston Journal of International Law, and a member of the Interscholastic Mock Trial team.

Hunter has tried cases in both state and federal courts, and argued before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He was part of the briefing team that obtained the first ever ruling in United States Federal Court that medical marijuana was insurable in the state of Colorado. Hunter has an extensive knowledge of all manner of insurance law including coverage, scope disputes, construction and code issues, appraisal, and appeal. Hunter has experience in state and federal courts all over Texas and Colorado, and has consistently achieved outstanding results for his clients.

Robert Green

Bob Green is a partner at Green & Barton with offices in Houston, Texas and Denver, Colorado. The firm’s practice is focused primarily on first party insurance.

Bob spent the first ten years of practice representing insurance companies in various first party coverage disputes and personal injury claims from 1978 to 1988. He served as coverage counsel for Hartford, Travelers, Cigna, Victoria Lloyds, and Stonewall Insurance Company. Prior clients also include Ford Motor Company, American Motor Company, John Deer, Rockwell International, and Marlin Firearms. Since 1988, he has represented individuals and corporations against insurance companies in bad faith litigation, coverage disputes, and personal injury claims. Bob has tried over fifty jury trials to conclusion, including several first party insurance cases. He had the record Plaintiff’s insurance verdict for the year 2013, along with his partner, Dan Barton. Bob has argued over fifteen cases to the Texas Supreme Court, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and various state appellate courts including multiple cases involving insurance coverage.

Bob earned his B.A. with Honors from the University of Texas in 1975. In 1978, he earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law with Honors, Order of the Coif. For the last thirty straight years, Bob has earned an AV-Preeminent listing in Martindale Hubbell which represents the highest peer rating in both legal ability and ethical standards. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law, Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is an Advocate Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Bob has been selected to Texas Super Lawyers: 2006 - 2012, 2014 – 2017.

Dan Barton

Daniel P. Barton is a founder of Green & Barton Trial Law. Mr. Barton has tried personal injury cases and insurance property damage cases nationally and locally for over twenty years.

Mr. Barton is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Nation Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Barton is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law. Mr. Barton has been reviewed by his colleagues for the Martindale-Hubbell Lawyer Index and has been rated “AV- Preeminent.” Mr. Barton has been named one of the Top Lawyers in America as a member of the Multi- Million Dollar Lawyers Forum and is a Super Lawyer in 2014 - 2017. Mr. Barton was named Top 100 civil plaintiff trial lawyers by The National Trial Lawyers. He is a life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Mr. Barton is an Associate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

Mr. Barton was honored in 2013 by Verdict Search and the Texas Lawyer for his reported $11,965,000 verdict in Robert Earl Roye v. E.I. DuPont De Nemours & Co. for being the largest workplace safety verdict in the State of Texas in 2012. Mr. Barton also won the largest insurance law verdict reported by verdict search and the Texas Lawyer for $2,737,817 in a first party commercial insurance case styled Sanatan Shiv Shakti Mandir d/b/a Ash v. Sirius International Insurance Company. The jury award included attorney’s fees and a knowing violation of the insurance code. Mr. Barton is the only lawyer in Texas to win #1 verdicts two consecutive years in two different categories reported by verdict search according to their staff.

Wayne Collins

Wayne has extensive experience in plaintiff civil litigation (wrongful death, personal injury, employment and business litigation). In 2000, Wayne obtained the largest settlement ($5.15 million) in Hardin County, Texas history for a widower and his 6 young children, whose wife was killed by a drunk driver in a company vehicle. Wayne had his first jury trial in 2001 and obtained a $9.6 million verdict for the Plaintiff in Dallas County in a commercial fraud lawsuit. At the time, it was the largest single-Plaintiff verdict in Dallas County History.

In 2002, Wayne tried a fraud case to jury in Alexandria, Virginia and obtained a $177 million verdict, which is the largest verdict in Virginia history and the 11 th largest in the nation for the year 2002. Since that time, Wayne has resolved hundreds of matters, including BP explosion cases and other multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts.

William T. Jones

William (“Bill”) T. Jones is a trial attorney who has spent his legal career representing plaintiffs in first party insurance litigation, personal injury cases, medical and pharmaceutical products liability cases, commercial, construction and environmental litigation matters. Bill’s extensive court room experience includes trying multiple cases as lead or co-counsel, and handling numerous motion practice hearings.

Currently Bill’s practice focuses on first-party and bad faith insurance claims representing residential and commercial policyholders. Bill extensive experience with first party insurance litigation makes him one of the top Plaintiff’s first party insurance lawyers in Texas.
